Reducing Rebar Cutting Waste and Rebar Usage of Beams: A Two-Stage Optimization Algorithm

چکیده

While various approaches have been developed to minimize rebar cutting waste, such as optimizing patterns and the lap splice position, reducing usage by minimizing number of splices remains uninvestigated. In response these issues, a two-stage optimization algorithm was that prioritizes use special-length achieve near-zero waste (N0RCW) less than 1%, while also overall usage. The first optimizes position for continuous considering rebar, which reduces required. It then integrates minimization combine additional rebar. applied beam structures in small-sized factory building project, it resulted notable reduction 29.624 tons equivalent 12.31% total purchased quantity. Greenhouse gas emissions were reduced 102.68 tons, associated costs decreased USD 30,256. A 0.93%, is near zero, achieved. These findings highlight significant potential proposed facilitating sustainable construction practices. applicable other reinforced concrete projects, where advantages will be amplified accordingly.

Rebar Graphene

As the cylindrical sp(2)-bonded carbon allotrope, carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have been widely used to reinforce bulk materials such as polymers, ceramics, and metals. However, both the concept demonstration and the fundamental understanding on how 1D CNTs reinforce atomically thin 2D layered materials, such as graphene, are still absent. Here, we demonstrate the successful synthesis of CNT-toughen...

Boric Acid Corrosion of Concrete Rebar

Borated water leakage through spent fuel pools (SFPs) at pressurized water reactors is a concern because it could cause corrosion of reinforcement steel in the concrete structure and compromise the integrity of the structure. Because corrosion rate of carbon steel in concrete in the presence of boric acid is lacking in published literature and available data are equivocal on the effect of boric...

Corrosion Behavior of Stainless Steel Clad Rebar

Stainless steel clad rebar (SCR) was investigated because it may become a cost-effective means of controlling corrosion in concrete under very aggressive environments. Sound SCR (316L cladding) resisted corrosion in saturated Ca(OH)2 solution (SCS) with up to 5 wt% chloride. Cladding breaks on SCR induced significant corrosion of exposed underlying CS in SCS with only 1 wt% chloride. A computer...
